Magneto-impedance and Magnetic Sensitivity of FeCoSiB Nano crystalline Micro-wires under Applied Longitudinal Stress

چکیده :
The study examined the magneto-impedance (MI) and magnetic sensitivity of FeCoSiB nano-crystalline micro-wires subjected to longitudinal stress across frequencies from 0.5 to 8 MHz. Findings reveal that applying an appropriate longitudinal stress significantly enhances the MI of these micro-wires. This stress leads to a rearrangement of domain walls, affecting the circumferential anisotropy and magnetic permeability, which in turn improves the MI response. The highest MI response recorded was 189%, with a maximum magnetic sensitivity of 7.73 %/Oe at a frequency of 3 MHz when the stress reached 70 MPa. Thus, longitudinal stress emerges as an effective, low-cost, and rapid method for sensor applications, and the results can inform the design of stress sensors utilizing the giant magneto-impedance effect.
