چکیده :
Tirgan limestone has been referred as gas reservoir in some parts of the Kopeh-Dagh basin. According to petrographic studies of Tirgan Formation in the Messino section, the diagenesis processes including micritization, bioturbation, dissolution, cementation, silicification, recrystallization, compaction, dolomitization, fracturing and filling occurred in three stages of eogenesis, mesogenesis, and telogenesis. The diagenesis processes of dissolution, recrystallization, dolomitization, and fracturing increase the secondary porosity, but based on this investigation, they were not enough to create a suitable reservoir quality in this part of the Kopet Dagh basin.
