Biodegradation of Deltamethrine in soil by co-culture of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Rhodococcus pyridinivorans

Abstract :
Deltamethrin is one of the most commonly used pyrethroids in agricultural practice in different geographic regions of the world. In this study, we describe two bacterial strains DI2-1S and Dl2-1B, isolated from soil. Degradation of deltamethrin in MSM (100 mg l−1) proceeded by strains DI2-1S and Dl2-1B reached the values of 94.95% after 10 days, respectively. Obtained results show that both strains of pseudomonas aeruginosa and Rhodococcus pyridinivoransmay possess potential to be used in bioremediation of deltamethrin in contaminated soils.
