Abstract :
In the present work, a novel and eco-friendly method was developed to prepare a green multifunctional adsorbent by modifying magnetic lignin via a beta-cyclodextrin agent (β-CD@lignin/Fe3O4). The produced β-CD@lignin/Fe3O4 were then characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The β-CD@lignin/Fe3O4 was employed as an adsorbent to remove methylene blue from aqueous solutions. The results showed that methylene blue removal could reach up to approximately 97 % under an initial concentration of 20 mg L-1, pH 7, contact time of 45 min, and adsorbent dosage of 0.6 g L-1.
