Separation of Term-Preterm Birth from Non-pregnant Using Frequency and Nonlinear Analysis of Electrohysterogram Signals

Abstract :
Preterm birth, occurring before the 37th week, was analyzed using electrohysterogram (EHG) signals. Thirty-one records were used to extract six spectral and six nonlinear features, classified by support vector machine and MLP. The MLP achieved 100% accuracy for term/non-pregnant and preterm/non-pregnant classes, while the best accuracy for term/preterm classification was 88.71%.
